Welcome!
By "Hinge clip" are you referring to the split plastic tube that slips over the hinge pin?

Here's a easy cheap fix. Get a 1ft length of automotive 5/32" vacum hose cut it the same length as the distance between pivot points. Then cut the small section long ways "straight" and "VIOLA", you'll probably get 6-8 of them for the $1.00 price of that 1ft hose. Ken

How can that possibly be the right part# with the last two digits being "87". The last 2 digits of HD's pt#'s denote the yr it was brought into inception(unless on a stretch it was used for something else).

Well heres the sleeve from Ronnies, cost is a whole $1.Honestly I would just follow k-wrenches advice and slit a vac hose, probably the material HD should have used in the first place since it's not as brittle your choice
wonder how much to ship or if they would.

Yeah, I thought that too, but being a british site they could have it contorted. Maybe something in the translation!
Made a mistake: last two digits are listed on jerseyh-d.com as 82

What you are looking for is called a sleeve, the part number is 52041-82. If it was a new seat they come with a new sleeve.

The seat hinge "sleeve" (HD P/N 52041-82) will last about 5 years (maybe less) before splitting from use and embrittlement as the plasticizers evaporate.

I replaced this part with a piece of nylon reinforced tygon tubing cut to resemble the 52041-82 part, as K-wrench mentioned previously, and this worked fine until I read a post here that suggested just throwing it away.

This sleeve on the seat hinge is like adding a belt to pants with suspenders. The lanyard is also not needed and these things just make removing the seat a PITA. I've since removed both parts and haven't missed these for more than 2 years.
