DefaultWhat did you plant inside Hinge-Cutting?

Just curious what you Hinge-Cutters are planting inside your areas this year. Some like to supplement Trees, Shrubs or Conifers to add more cover or screening. We're adding Arrowwood, Nannyberry, Ninebark, Highbush Cranberry, Hazelnut and American Plum. This area is too vertical with too much canopy. Can't wait to get the saw out there.

One of the trees I am going to plant in the tops of some of the larger hinge-cuts I made last fall are chinkapin oak. Where I'm at, there are basically NO oak trees, so I'm hoping to take advantage of the protection the tops will offer and plant seedlings in those areas. I'll tape them so I can keep track of where they're growing and limit competition from other trees.
