Regardless, this time I have had to do a bit of a workaround.
First, I removed the bottom piece of the door frame with pliers. It snapped right off without damaging any other parts, though I did lose a couple of pin-hinge wires. I measured (yes twice this time) and cut the door with an Easy Cutter. I still wanted working doors, so I had to re-set set the bottom pivot point. When I cut the (aprox) 2/8" off I could still see where the original hole had been. Because of that, figuring out the drilling spot was simple.
I used 20 Gauge jewelry wire and a 3/64" drill bit for the new hinge.
Next, I made a new bottom for the frame from craft sticks and glued only on at the sides. Then I drilled my hole about an inch deep and popped in a piece of 20 gauge. I glued where the wires meet the bottom of the door frame. Then I clipped off the excess wire, tapped my new hinges in flush and left them to dry.
They all worked during the dry fit, so hopefully that won't change!
Overall an easy enough repair that worked out fine and has me thinking about making a few scratch doors for another project.
