Maghreb's economic future, development hinge on its countries' union

The economic future of the Maghreb and its development hinge on its five countries’ union, Moroccan Communications Minister said on Monday in Algiers.

Mustapha El Khalfi told a press conference, held as part of his three-day working visit to Algeria, that the Maghreb is a strategic choice for Morocco.

In this regard, the minister recalled that the new Constitution adopted by Morocco sets the greater Maghreb integration as a top priority in the country’s foreign policy.

Asked about Morocco’s relations with regional groupings, El Khalfi said that the Kingdom distinguishes between two approaches: partnership and integration.

“For the Maghreb it is integration; for other cooperation spaces it is partnership”.
