| Posted: 3/13/2012 11:16:41 AM I am contemplating moving most of my CM strap-hinge pages to the WRMK leather albums. The issue, of course, is the pages are a different size and I actually glued down on the CM page versus a piece of paper in many of my older books. I know I can remove the staples and trim the binding but I would love to hear if anyone has a better or quicker way to do this. I don't have the ability to scan them all and I wouldn't want to have to print all those pages anyway! I really like the look of the WRMK binders on my shelf and want to take advantage of the next big sale but only if I know it is going to be worth all the work! So, if you have done this, can you please share your tips, pros and cons? Thanks so much! | Debbie A. | Posted: 3/13/2012 11:37:02 AM I am just finishing up moving my CM to AC. It has been a labor of love, believe you me! Most of my pages I just did right on the CM white page so those I just cut off the edges and slid them into the new page protectors. Some pages I did on PP or CS so I gently pried those off the CM album pages and put that into a page protector. I have now moved close to 10 albums and am on my last one, thank goodness! I love how they look on my shelf and I don't regret the time I have spent on this project. It's a good TV-night project. Good luck! | Jen OLW: Create Jan. LO: 7 Feb. LO: 5 | | | |

| Posted: 3/13/2012 11:37:17 AM Would a 3-hole punch be strong enough to go through the jeeping on the left hand side? Seems like you could remove the staples, punch 3 holes on the left hand side and be good to go. I'm not sure what the measurement is from corner to corner, jeeping included, but if it's the old style CM pages (where the work surface was not true 12x12) it seems like the pages would fit into the WRMK album without hanging over the edge. I envision you would leave the page protectors as-is since the jeeping is still intact. Hope this makes sense. I am a die-hard CM album user but if I was going to change to 3 ring binder style I think I would try the above. Shara | | |

| Posted: 3/13/2012 11:51:46 AM I don't understand the need to move those pages in the first place. I have plenty of completed CM albums, CTMH postbound and WRMK. It doesn't bother me to have 3 albums styles on my shelf. It shows the progression of my scrapbooking which is kinda cool. Totally my opinion, but I really think cutting off the jeeping and moving CM pages into another album isn't a good idea. | _________________________________________________ "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game!" | | | |

| Posted: 3/13/2012 12:26:04 PM I am also one that will say to you leave those books alone. I started with CM and those books are complete and in order so now I am using the WRMK for the next generation. My CM books are in perfect shape and I love them. I just replaced my MIL's books that were the cheap pioneer from M's and it has cost me $300.00. Hers needed to be replaced and now will be fine. But ask you to just leave your older books alone and just continue. Lorri | | |

| Posted: 3/13/2012 12:26:31 PM Thanks Jen, that's kind of what I was thinking would work. I just want to be sure they aren't loose in the page protectors. I probably have about 12 albums to move and it would definitely be a slow process. I have a WRMK on the shelf now and it looks so much nicer compared to the other ones so that will be my motivation! Shara, I don't think there is enough room on the jeeping to punch holes, I think it would go onto the page itself, otherwise that would be great! Amom, I know what you mean, I have 3 styles of albums right now too. Some of my CM albums are even embossed. But after seeing pics on Pinterest and seeing the album on my own shelf, it just looks much cleaner to me. It is nice that we as scrapbookers have so many choices now! | Posted: 3/13/2012 12:29:21 PM Thanks Lorri, I do understand what you are saying. FWIW, I do plan on starting with all my post-bound albums first, then if I really like the look of the WRMK I probably will still continue and move the CM albums. This will be a long on-going project so I am sure it will evolve! | Debbie A. | Posted: 3/13/2012 12:33:06 PM Jen's answer above seems like a good solution. It means you have to buy new protectors, too, but if it's the best way to do it, I guess it's worth it. Good luck on a big project! I don't understand the need to move those pages in the first place. So, you're the angel on my one shoulder, and the OP is the "bad" angel on my other shoulder . I think about how much it would cost and how when the next fad becomes post bounds again I'll want to have them all match the "new" style.....and I think - eh, I can live with the mismatched. But then the good sale price comes around again, and I think how I would LOVE to have matching albums, nicer spines. I would just like the look of all of them lined up like all the pretty pictures I see . I didn't use strap hinge, but I used inexpensive post-bound in various sizes. The consistent look would make me happy. | | |

| Posted: 3/13/2012 12:37:50 PM I think we were answering at the same time . I did mean to ask - are you completely averse to punching further into the edge of the page, like another 1/2" from the hard edging of the page, right through the slide on protector and all? Not sure how lumpy your pages are, or how close to the edge most of your pictures are, but that would be a less expensive solution (not having to purchase new protectors, just new albums). | | |

| Posted: 3/13/2012 12:40:52 PM It has been a labor of love, believe you me! That, for sure! I moved (and am still moving) the pages for a couple of reasons. Primarily, gaps. There are missing photos, memorabilia and pages in my CM books that can't easily be filled in with their system. Broken staples is another reason. Rather than taking the time to re-do the pages with broken bindings I just started moving them over. And really, once I started it hasn't been such a big deal. I only had two completed CM 12 x 12 books (not counting the kids' albums, but that's a different story) so not really a super spendy process for me. I also have several other brands of post and three ring albums, and I use those with the We R MK for our 12 x 12 family books, but they are all top loaded page protectors, which I vastly prefer. | | |

| Posted: 3/13/2012 12:57:23 PM What a project! I love the CM albums, and several years ago I bought one stray (think it was MM but not sure) and I hate that it doesn't match my CM albums. I plan on transferring those pages into a CM album. Thank gawd it's only one album though. Good luck to you! | *****Natalie***** "May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your crotch and may your arms be too short to scratch."
