Standard Full Mortise Hinge On A Bevel Edge Door
When you use a FULL MORTISE hinge made for a square edge door on a door that is beveled on the hinge side, it moves the door over slightly to the lock side, taking up some of the clearance on the lock side of the door.
In most cases a standard full mortise hinge can be used and works just fine.
However, if there are tight clearances or irregularities in between the door and frame, there is a possibility of an interference problem on the lock side when opening and closing the door.
For instances like this, McKinney makes full mortise hinges with a special swage to match the bevel on the door.
Also, there are certain hinges that absolutely have to be ordered in the beveled edge version if the hinge side of the door is beveled and they are Swing Clear, Raised Barrel, Wide Throw and Anchor hinges.
